Track Tapes
FAM’s robust Tape Catalogue can identify the exact data that is contained on a tape and pinpoint exactly where a tape resides.

FAM has built in support to interact with NSK’s Tapecom and Mediacom Utilities.

Tape Management
FAM automates the retrieval of tapes (from various vaults), scratches them when they expire and allows you to pre-allocate tapes to a certain job. If a non-scratch tape is mounted by error, FAM will reject the tape and send a message to the operator console.

Silo Support
Silo Technology is managed as long as the Silo in use has a logically configured name ($SILO) assigned to the Silo.

Parallel Backups
FAM has the ability to run “parallel”, i.e., there is no re-wind time for tapes
